Many thanks to the staff of Pernod Ricard Pacific – the team has pledged $9000 to the Limbs4All Nepal fund and then – PRP have matched it, $18,000 to add to our fund, this is the equivalent of at least 120 new limbs or 60 new rough terrain wheelchairs for the many new ‘disabled’ from the recent earthquakes. Hard to express our appreciation, many thanks team.
Limbs4All gets a great ‘leg up’
2015 is flying by
Hard to imagine it is almost September already.
It has been a busy year presenting in NZ, Australia and India, both keynotes and The Mountain Choice program, to inspirational companies and charities.
Our 2015 Gokyo Ri Limbs4All Charity Trek to support the earthquake recovery in Nepal has unfortunately had to be postponed until 2016, a real shame as the people of the Khumbu desperately need trekkers back to fund the recovery – roll on 2016.
15 May is always a special day, 8 years ago I stood on the summit of Everest.
Today, I spent the day not thinking about that but more about 2 other days, 12 May 1996, the day we lost Rob and Andy (plus many others) and 18 April 2014 when we lost 16 climbing friends, all dads, sons, brothers of the Khumbu Sherpa family.
Thoughts to all who have lost family in the mountains – it’s a dangerous place that we love.
Tough day on Everest
What do you say after a tragedy like this – 16 Husbands, Fathers and Sons will not be going home, will not be supporting their families – our thoughts are to all those families and we will continue our support of the people of the Khumbu. To all those still on Everest, stay safe please.
Limbs4All Nepal Challenge 2014
Trek finalised, Miami done, London and Atlanta here I come
Well we now have confirmed dates for our Gokyo Ri Trek – 2 – 15 November (ex Kathmandu) – Just $3990 ex Kathmandu (about $5990 ex NZ), a very exciting prospect. Lucy and I are so much looking forward to sharing this great experience so check out the links to the trek details and book!
A hectic 10 days, NZ – Miami to present, then home via Palmerston North (working with a group of inspiring youth) and the yet another Queenstown presentation. Very nice to be back in Hanmer Springs recharging the batteries in this magic place.
In a few weeks it will be back to London to present then on to Atlanta, Georgia to work with a great school, an exciting prospect
Time to stop writing and get out on the mountainbike!
2014 off in a rush already
The first 2 weeks of 2014 done and dusted and the pace is already picking up. The 3 weeks will see me in Queenstown 3 times presenting, with a quick trip to Miami and Palmerston North in between!
Our 2014 Gokyo Lakes trip has been confirmed for the 1st two weeks of November – be quick to book as places will be limited.
The new legs are almost broken in and the new Norco mountain bike definitely is.
Hitting the road again
Well Easter is almost over and a busy month is coming up.
In the last 2 months I presented programs in India (11), Iran (2) NZ (5) and Australia (3), definitely needed the last 2 weeks at home here in Hanmer Springs, enjoying our great mountain treks, mountain biking and family.
A huge thanks to the support Lion Australia have offered to Limbs4All, very much appreciated, a great event with a great team.
The next 2 weeks = Queenstown, Mumbai, Dubai (very excited to be presenting at a World Management Forum), Mumbai, Queenstown and then Hanmer Springs, will be an exciting 2 weeks.
We are working on plans for November treks in Nepal currently and should have bookings open in Late April
See you on the road or in the audience!
